Patent Bar Presentation - Nov 2 - 5pm

Thursday, November 2, 5pm, Room C400
To Attend: Please respond by using CareerNet: ( https://law-nyls-csm.symplicity.com/students/) log-in, go to Events Tab, click Workshops Tab, choose this program, and click the RSVP button.

If you are a student with an undergrad degree in engineering or the hard sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, some computer science degrees) or the equivalent, and are interested in becoming a Patent Agent or Attorney, Practising Law Institute (PLI) invites you to a presentation by Mark Dighton, PLI's Director of Law School Relations and a Director of their Patent Bar Review Course. Topics for discussion include:

-The latest info on the new computer-based Patent Bar Exam
-Who can take it
-When you should take it (you don't need to...and probably shouldn't...wait until you graduate to take the Exam)
-How the new Rules being tested beginning in October will impact the Exam, and
-Recommendations on when and how to study for this very difficult Exam.

Scholarships to PLI's other IP programs will also be discussed.

Please visit on the Web for a wealth of information on the resources we offer:

NYLS Patent Bar Listserv

For those who are interested in the patent bar exam, we've created a listserv at nyls-patbar at googlegroups so that students can ask each other questions while studying. Anyone can subscribe - visit the group home page at http://groups.google.com/group/nyls-patbar for more information.

In addition, we're in the midst of setting up the PLI workshop and aiming for a date in early November (6th or 7th). More details to come.
